ReBoot

Have you spent hours watching with pride as your Scouts face their fears on the high ropes, race down the twin zips or take the leap of faith and secretly wanted to have a go yourself?

Do you long to be Cub age again and crawl through the rabbit tunnels, try out crate stacking or challenge your friends in the archery range?

Would you like one day just for YOU where you can enjoy the adventure of Scouting and spend time with friends without counting children and collecting pe...rmission slips?

On 24th September, PACCAR exclusively invites ALL adult members of GLMW to REBOOT; a day packed with activities, workshops and drop-ins for you to meet new and old friends, share ideas and try them for yourself.

Places cost just £5 per person which includes all activities, workshops and lunch. To secure your place, please email karen@paccarscoutcamp.org

New County Commissioner for Greater London Middlesex West

Following an extensive search, I am absolutely delighted and very pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Williams as the next County Commissioner for GLMW to succeed myself with effect from 2nd April 2017. Richard is known to most people and has led the programme team for the past 18 months as part of the county review and prior to that led Explorer Scouting.  Richard is also our leader for the forthcoming county Expedition to Kandersteg and a member of the training team. From the extensive number of nominations, I know Richard will have your full support as he leads Middlesex West forward, and continue the strategy and vision we have all been part of. I had purposefully left several roles vacant in the county team knowing that changes were pending and now Richard has the opportunity to shape the future team based on the current county needs. Richard and I will commence the handover process in April, and I will be supporting him as both his line manager and friend. I'm sure you will all join me in wishing Richard well for the future as your County Commissioner.

Harry Paterson

This obituary is taken from the tribute given by Derek Paterson on behalf of the Paterson family at Harry's funeral and Scouting records.

Harry Paterson was big; physically big and big-hearted.  He had hands like dinner plates with a strong grip. He was sure of himself and his abilities and readily accepted challenges.  At Harrow County School he played Rugby and, after leaving school, he trained as a P.E. teacher at Culham College, Oxford.  This was interrupted by National Service in the Royal Horse Artillery where he served abroad.
