On 29 September, PACCAR Scout Camp really will have it all! Bring your Group to our Elements weekend where each section has their own challenges and competitions and then join together at the end to celebrate their successes.

For the first time, Beavers will join us for the whole weekend staying in either Rowallan or on Roy's Reservation and take on our Water Challenge. Throughout the weekend they will be working towards their Experiment and Explorer Activity Badges as they conduct water investigations, explorations, make a bug hotel and go pond dipping as well as completing their My Outdoors challenge award. It won’t be all work and no play though as there will be plenty of time to get wet and wild!

Cubs will take part in the Fire Challenge travelling back in time to the days of the Cavemen as they discover fire. Cubs will learn more traditional methods of lighting fires and then have the opportunity to earn their Backwoods Cooking activity badge as they treat their leaders to a warm drink and snack. During the weekend there will be a whole host of stoneage challenges that will see Cubs race, make and investigate as they all compete for the top spot of Captain Caveman.

The Earth Challenge goes to the Scouts who will embark on a bushcraft weekend and go back to basics as they build and sleep in their own shelters, cook on an open fire and live in the woods for the weekend. Learning to identify plants and wildlife, discovering and following animal tracks and using nature to help them survive will reveal the inner Bear Grylls in even the most reluctant Scout.

The Air Challenge is reserved for Explorers, Network and any leaders who are up to it at SkyCamp. Teams will be set a series of tasks as they compete to build the most imaginative, comfortable and practical home in the trees. They’ll be distractions along the way, but each team is tasked to build their base in the branches that they will cook and sleep in and will be judged on its design, functionality and success.

The weekend will reach its finale when all of these elements and participants are combined for our prize giving ceremony where we will celebrate the challenges that each and every participant has taken on.

The weekend is just £45 per participant for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts which includes a supper on Friday and then meals through until Sunday lunch. As part of the SkyCamp competition is to prepare your own menu, this is priced at £20 but teams will need to provide their own food. Non competing leaders are priced at £20 each if they wish to be catered for.

Further details will be circulated when programs are finalised etc in the meantime be sure to book your spaces as these camps always sell out. Registration forms are attached, please be sure to put your group name in the reference if paying deposits online.
