Film making initiative for 14-18 year olds

Thames Estuary Partnership are a small charity based in UCL and with Hermitage River Project based at Hermitage Community Moorings in Tower Hamlets, they're offering a two 2-day workshop this summer for 14-18 year olds. They will learn basic film making skills and we will teach them all they would need to know about how to make a short 1 minute film on their phone or tablet. Meaning no professional equipment is required.

At the end of the two days, they will have made a film together in a group of 5. Not only will this help to provide essential skills such as team work, organisation and critical thinking. They will also have skills in film making. They will then have the chance to make their own film over the summer with our support and enter this into a film competition which we are running as part of the outreach for a documentary we are co-producing, all about the ecology of the Thames.

The children will learn about the Thames, our link to the ocean through it and how the city impacts the river through litter.
