Adult Training

In GLMW we provide support for adults across the county and beyond, whether you are in the first stage of your leadership or have a few more years of experience.

The learning takes place in a friendly group based atmosphere and can be broadly split into the following areas:

  • Core Training (Induction for new adults)
  • On-going development and learning
  • Specialised training (e.g. Special Needs)
  • Safeguarding
  • Safety
  • First Aid
  • Online Safety for young people

We offer methods of learning that are fun and engaging and have a lasting impact on your scouting. Much consideration is taken for the needs of the individual learner and sessions can be tailored to manage the requirements of participants. Training in GLMW is delivered like much of the youth programme, using a range of methods including learning by doing, working in teams and sharing practice with others.

Attending a course is the first step on the learning journey, most of the important learning happens back in your sections or groups.

The training team are made from volunteers and have a range of skills, talents and experiences
